Historic Building Records

Historic building records across Lancashire, Cumbria and the Northwest.

Historic building recording is often required as a condition of listed building consent or planning permission before alteration, conversion or demolition works of a historic building can begin. Local planning authorities commonly request a record of the building to ensure its historic significance is documented before any changes take place.

Our reports are prepared in accordance with Historic England guidance and are tailored to the level of recording required by the local authority and a selection of our reports can be found here.

We are based in Lancashire and cover historic buildings throughout the county and into Cumbria, including farmhouses, barns, and rural vernacular buildings dating from the medieval period through to the 19th century.
